Carinido

Tutoring from someone in your own neighbourhood

On Carinido you find students, teachers and experienced sitters who tutor, a few streets away. You see which subjects, what it costs per hour and what other parents think. You book and pay online, per lesson.

What parents book tutoring for

  • Maths or reading that does not come naturally in primary school.
  • Homework help on fixed afternoons, so evenings at home stay calm.
  • Maths, languages or another subject in secondary school.
  • Exam preparation in the weeks before the tests.

What does it cost?

Every tutor sets their own hourly rate. On top of the rate you pay a 10% service fee, or nothing with a pass.

  • Tutoring: €13 to €23 per hour

These are guide prices. Every sitter sets their own rate.

What we check

Our payment partner has verified the sitter’s identity using a valid ID document.
Criminal record checked
We’ve seen the official certificate ourselves. A babysitter can’t turn this badge on themselves.

How it works

  1. Search by postcode

You’ll see who’s available within a few kilometres, with their rate, badges and reviews.

  2. Send a booking request

Choose a day and time and say what you need. The sitter says yes or no.

  3. Pay once they say yes

You pay securely through Carinido. After that, the booking is confirmed.

Good to know

If your babysitter comes to your home on no more than three days a week, the Dutch ‘Regeling dienstverlening aan huis’ applies: you don’t have to withhold payroll tax or pay contributions. Childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) is only for registered childcare, not for a babysitter through Carinido.

Frequently asked questions

Who tutors through Carinido?

Students, teachers (current and former) and sitters who also help with homework. Every profile shows the subjects, the experience and what we have checked: the identity, the phone number and, if the tutor uploaded it, the criminal record certificate. Reviews only come from parents who booked through Carinido.

What does tutoring cost?

The tutor decides; the hourly rate is on the profile. On top of that you pay a 10% service fee. If you book weekly, the Kids pass is cheaper: it waives the service fee.

Can I move a lesson?

Up to 24 hours before the start you cancel for free and book a new slot. If you cancel later, the tutor receives half the rate for the time they kept free.

Is it at home or at the tutor’s?

You agree that together in a message. Most lessons take place at the child’s home; some tutors also receive students. Because everyone lives nearby, travel time is short.
